MAKE A SHAKE

Soluble Fibers:

Apples, apricots, barley, berries, grapefruit, nectarines, oat bran, oatmeal, oranges, peaches, tangerines.

These are fruits and items you might want to put into a shake or smoothie to lower your cholesterol.  I am not going to recommend any specific concoction, but skim milk, Vanilla yogurt, tablespoons of Cinnamon depending on how big a shake you make are common ingredients.

Cinnamon having the effect of defeating pathogens.

* Caution if your overall Vitamin C (citrus fruits) and Calcium ( dairy) in a day both reach the 2-3 grams level for each, it is a recipe for a kidney stone.

These are cholesterol lowering vegetables:

Vegetables:  Cabbage, carrots, celery, chickpeas, split peas, okra, peas, beans; pinto, kidney, navy, lima.   Sweet potatoes, turnips, zucchini.

Soluble fiber means they digest and enter the bloodstream to lower cholesterol.  This is not the same thing as Insoluble Fiber which is roughage.

Insoluble Fibers:

Bananas, broccoli, brown rice, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, corn, lentils, pasta, potatoes, spinach, wheat bran cereal, wheat germ, whole wheat bread, whole wheat crackers.
